Practice Nurses

Practice nurses appointments are for a range of services including: chronic disease clinics for diabetes, respiratory disease, heart disease.

They also provide health (well person) checks, wound dressings, suture removal, ear syringing, cervical smear testing. We can also provide imunisations for work or travel (there may be a charge).  

Nurse Practitioner

Our Nurse Practitioner is able to diagnose and prescribe for acute illnesses such as urinary tract infections, tonsillitis, coughs etc. and has direct access to a GP for a second opinion if needed.

Practice Support Pharmacist

Our Practice Support Pharmacist  is able to help with medication queries and side effects, advice on pain relief and diagnose and prescribe for other common minor ailments.

Child Health/Baby Clinicsdr_and_baby

Baby Clinics are held every week.

Tuesdays        1.30 - 3.30 pm

Please note:

From 13 February 2018 these clinics are moving to a Tuesday morning 9.30 - 11.30 am

Child Immunisations

Thursdays       10.00 - 11.45 am

Notification of appointments will be sent to you by the child health department at the hospital.

Diabetic Clinics

We have a GP with special skills in treating diabetics. We provide a comprehensive six monthly check for all patients with diabetes. Appointments can be made with Sister Tania Caulfield on a Tuesday or throughout the week during her normal clinic times.

NHS Clinics for Asthma & Respiratory Disease

Sister Tania Caulfield holds respiratory clinics on Tuesdays and Thursdays
2.00 - 5.30 pm

Family Planning baby_and_pregnant_mum

We provide a wide range of contraception services, including emergency contraception, and advice.

Maternity Care

The Doctors and Midwife provide maternity care. The Midwives hold regular ante-natal clinics by appointment.

Child Health Surveillance Clinics

Run by Drs Meardon, Pemsel and Riches with the health visitor provides full developmental checks.

Minor Surgery

Drs Yule and Meardon undertake minor operations for non-cosmetic reasons. Ask your Doctor for advice.

Smoking Cessation and Support

This service is available from The Smoke Stop Counsellor in the practice. Please make an appointment via the receptionist.

Travel Vaccinations

These are available from the Practice Nurses by appointment. Please see the travel information page for more details.  Please note we no longer provide yellow fever vaccinations.
