Improve awareness of screening tests for you and your baby

Screening tests for you and your baby

NHS screening tests check for certain health conditions that you or your baby may have.

  • They start with a simple blood test before 10 weeks.
  • Like other NHS maternity care, they are free for NHS patients.

Don’t forget to ask about your pregnancy vaccines

  • 20–32 weeks: Whooping cough
  • From 28 weeks: RSV
  • A flu vaccine during the autumn or winter. You can have this at any stage, but the earlier, the better.
