Physician associate

Physician Associates are trained to perform a number of roles, including taking medical histories, performing examinations, diagnosing illness, analysing test results and developing management plans for the care of patients. Physician Associates have an increasing role as part of a multi-skilled team in Practices, supporting GPs in Primary Care.

Community midwives

The community midwives and our doctors provide full pregnancy care. Ante-natal clinics are held weekly by appointment.

Community nurses

Our community nursing team is responsible for providing skilled home nursing care and support typically for patients who are housebound.

If you need to arrange a visit from the community nurses, please ask your GP or one of our receptionists who will be able to assist.

Health visitors

The health visiting team no longer have an office at the Barcroft Practice

If you wish to speak to a health visitor for advice or to make an appointment, please phone 0333 321 4257.

The health visiting team is available for health promotion advice (by appointment) for all ages and run the child health clinics.

Every child under 5 will have a named health visitor.

Counsellors

We have a practice based psychological therapist who offers a comprehensive range of counselling. Referrals are via your doctor.
